Mistigram: the obvious selection for day 4...

Mistigram: the obvious selection for day 4 of @judebuffumpixels’ #blocktober2018 daily pixelart challenge, #SwampMonster, was DC’s #SwampThing.  But… could that be a little too obvious?  Thinking back to a specific stone cold classic issue I read at probably too early an age, the #AnatomyLesson from Feb 1984 (marking the transition to the wild #AlanMoore / #SteveBissette partnership on the title), I considered the issue’s other plant-man, #JasonWoodrue, the #FloronicMan, a mad scientist sprung from prison to study the compost heap in the freezer, and felt I’d give this panel of him the belated #ANSIart treatment it so richly deserved for the first time ever.  The only problem is that if you recall my basic witchy black cat from two days ago, you’ll appreciate that adapting this giant and detailed image is, it turns out, quite a bit beyond my skill level! (Which is why it’s hitting you, obviously incomplete, a day late.) But nonetheless, as the only existent ANSI art treatment of the panel, it’s still the best take on it yet to date!  I hope that one of the geniuses at @blocktronics follows my lead and gives the panel a more worthwhile adaptation in due time!  In the meantime, you get to settle for this proof of concept. https://ift.tt/2PdkxiY
