Mistigram: kids today will never know the joys of home 3-D rendering and raytracing such as was practiced by a small subset of home computer artists in the mid ‘90s. Type a phrase (“Demon Lair” in this case), choose a font, a texture, a light source, a camera angle, hit “RENDER” and… OK, you might want to go make a sandwich at this point. For a complicated setup, you might not find out what it actually looked like until the following morning! (You can see why Photoshop became so compelling, allowing you to see your souped-up logo in mere minutes by comparison!) This particular specimen, released 22 years ago this month in the MIST0796 by some forgotten soul logged in our records as Wanderer2, likely was not so resource intensive. https://ift.tt/2MV8jtI
