 Mistigram: nothing says December quite like basketball, first devised to give athletes an indoor sport to play in cold months.  AdeptApril celebrates it in #ANSIart today as it's the birthday of James Naismith, the Canadian inventor of the sport in 1891: a Canadian Heritage moment.

ADVENT24 FILE_ID

 Mistigram: As we mentioned previously, for the second year in a row, we at the Mistigris computer art collective have compiled and shared an executable #ANSIart #AdventCalendar to be enjoyed as part of the December lead-up to Christmas.  This festive image, by turns jolly and grim, is @littlebitspace 's FILE_ID artwork to this year's ADVENT24 calendar program.  To view today's (totally gnarly) image, find a way to download and run the program in an MS-DOS operating environment or virtual machine (eg. DOSBox) -- or simply check it out on the 16colo.rs archive.  (It will also shortly be available on numerous bulletin board services.)  Return the following day to see which new artwork is unlocked on the 2nd!  Repeat until Christmas cheer is achieved, or Dec 25th, whichever comes first.

 Mistigram: we've just dropped an executable MS-DOS #ANSIart #AdventCalendar for December's lead-up to Christmas, for the 2nd year running. This cozy seasonal screen, drawn by codefenix of Constructive Chaos BBS (conchaos.synchro.net), was the first illustration in last year's.
