MIST0825/MIST0825.NFO

Mistigram: contemplating what would be a suitable image to set the stage for last month's #anime - themed MIST0825 artpack collection, Cthulu decided to open its infofile with the same imagery that every #StudioGhibli movie opens with, a monochrome line drawing of its mascot #Totoro, from their sophomore release, 1988's #MyNeighborTotoro.

MIST0920/HORSENBURGER-TOTORO

Mistigram: this @horsenburger #teletext portrait of #StudioGhibli mascot #Totoro is a little off-model but still captures the vibe of this furry nature spirit. This screen was included in the film-themed MIST0920 artpack collection released five years ago this month.

MIST0825/US-MONONOKE

Mistigram: Cthulu felt awfully normcore (not a way he feels often!) cooking up a list of his favorite #anime and realising just how many of them were #StudioGhibli productions, but their output is solid even if his engagement with the genre is relatively superficial.  He drew this #ANSIart tribute to 1997's #PrincessMononoke (with help from LDA and ConsoleJockey) for the new anime-themed MIST0825 artpack collection.

MIST0920/HORSENBURGER-PRINCESS_MONONOKE-FOREST_SPIRITS

Mistigram: a small group of rattle-headed #Kodama gather by the water's edge in the Cedar Forest, in this #teletext scene adapted by @horsenburger from #StudioGhibli's 1997 #anime #PrincessMononoke.  This screen was included in the film-themed MIST0920 artpack collection released five years ago this month.

MIST0825/US-TUXEDOMASK

Mistigram: contemporary to our Mist Classic artpacks of the mid-'90s, Cthulu's girlfriend (then described in our pages as 'the rainbow-haired demon of death') was a big fan of #SailorMoon, finally airing dubbed at that time in North America.  Thinking back to that big #anime moment in the cultural mainstream, one of the first on his radar, he drew this #ANSIart portrait of Sailor Moon's partner #TuxedoMask (with help from LDA) for the new anime-themed MIST0825 artpack collection.

MIST1320/EMME_DOBLE-SAILOR_MOON

Mistigram: many years ago, Emme Doble specialised in a kind of cozy chibi #pixelart aesthetic. (They are still a hugely prolific visual artist in an entirely different idiom.) Five years ago we shared her portrait of #anime hero Usagi (#SailorMoon) in the TV-themed MIST1320 artpack collection.

MIST0825/CT-SPIRITED_AWAY

Mistigram: Cthulu adapted to #ANSIart this scene from #StudioGhibli's 2001 #SpiritedAway where Sen squeezes into an onsen elevator with Radish Spirit. It was included in the new #anime-themed MIST0825 artpack collection.
