Mistigram: AdeptApril has drawn a stylized #ANSIart #telephone handset today in order to metaphorically convey that today is #AreaCode Day! Back when we were confined to the use of landlines and local calling plans, when telecommunications were conducted through #dialup connections over phone lines, the boundaries of these invisible territories demarcated specific manifestations of cyberspace that were beyond our reach. We make a big deal about having been established and rooted in area code #604 -- describing the province of British Columbia in Canada -- and coincidentally just a couple of days ago we wrote an extensive gloss of our home area code on a wiki we recently established, over at https://github.com/NicheInterests/mistfunk/wiki/area-code-604 , since entries pertaining to our corner of cyberspace are slowly but surely finding themselves purged from Wikipedia.
