Today on Mistigram, a #shift_JIS portrait of #AlbertEinstein drawn by @kalchano and released in our recent MIST0217 artpack collection. http://ift.tt/2lPGZT0
Today on Mistigram, the “Wi-Fi flower” 🌸 oil painting by @the_mythical_man last seen in the MIST0217 artpack collection. http://ift.tt/2lXQ5xG
Today on Mistigram, a #teletext astronaut by @rakelmeyers promoting today, the second and final day of the teletext conference Block Party 2017 at the Centre for Computing History (@thecentreforcomputinghistory) in Cambridge, where you have a chance to meet not just Raquel but also renowned Mist teletext artists @illarterate and @horsenburger (and I gather that Carl “TeletextR” Attrill is also in attendance!) Not to take credit for something we never did, we never released this particular piece by Raquel in any artpack (only a couple of pieces of her PETSCII), this post is purely signal-boosting promotion. http://ift.tt/2lJeFjA
Today on Mistigram, @horsenburger brings the #teletext heat with an unruly gang of garish neon #spaceinvaders in promotion of this weekend’s Block Party conference at The Centre for Computing History in Cambridge (@computermuseum on Twitter), currently underway! In addition to the distinguished Mr Horsley, you can also meet on site @illarterate and @raquelmeyers , rare textmode talents you may recall from past Mistigris artpacks, such as are rarely gathered under the same roof.
And oh yes, this piece was released in the recent MIST0217 artpack collection - there may no longer be the thriving ecosystem of BBSes to make textmode advertisements for, but there are still things worth promoting! http://ift.tt/2lb1XYR
Today on Mistigram, “Fake Make Make Make”, a @starstew picture in full retro (new but vintage-styled) mode, released in the recent MIST0217 artpack collection. http://ift.tt/2lD5Fwe
Today on Mistigram… another cold morning in Vancouver. “Cubes” photo by @Breeonne, released in the recent MIST0217 artpack collection. http://ift.tt/2kQ3ZSV
Today on Mistigram, another kaleidoscopic image by @daniellonglegs - we felt it resembled a molecular close-up of silicon, but only the artist knows for sure. This image was released in the recent MIST0217 artpack collection, as part of a short suite of the artist’s characteristic reflected images that we felt might fit in on the front cover of an issue of Wired magazine. If you look very carefully, you can probably read “XXX” in this image, but it’s about as indecent as scrambled porn. http://ift.tt/2kZkmIk
Today on Mistigram, a human gets up close and personal with a conspicuously blocky hard light construct, a hirez assemblage by reNM8r (@bigredcanuck) released as part of yesterday’s MIST0217 artpack collection. Would a textmode hologram be made of voxels? http://ift.tt/2mi0wsQ
Today on Mistigram - do you know how to do The Robot? @horsenburger sure does! Here are five specimens of his teletext android handiwork - a cyberman from Doctor Who, a Cylon from Battlestar Galactica, Maximilian from The Black Hole, Krysten from Red Dwarf, and a jolly Daft Punk-looking bot promoting next weekend’s Block Party teletext conference in Cambridge - all from the steaming-fresh MIST0217 artpack, which you can help yourselves to at http://ift.tt/2lz1sM3 http://ift.tt/2kZOQL0
Today on Mistigram, a colourful series of overlaid sine waves, providing a visualization of sounds unheard, generated by @jes5199 and released in MIST0117… but he can generate as many more of these as you might care to see or hear! http://ift.tt/2kChQwe
Today on Mistigram, a painting by @dashsharon released in the recent MIST0117 artpack collection, entitled “Tasmanian Tiger”. Dig the stripes! http://ift.tt/2m8BOLm
Today on Mistigram, an historical screen shot of augmented reality by Ice Cream Emperor, released in the recent MIST0117 artpack collection. Dial up the transparency and make the world your windows wallpaper! http://ift.tt/2m29El3

Today on Mistigram, recursive textile pixelart made by @awesomeangela13 as seen in MIST0117: “Mario Inception”. Your life would have to be pretty special to enjoy playing a game about playing a game about it. http://ift.tt/2lVOa9B
Today on Mistigram, a close-up on the painting “Current Studies” by @niklikovfska , released (and viewable in full) in our recent MIST0117 artpack collection. http://ift.tt/2lKEK4x
And today on Mistigram, the 2016 artpack release (in MIST1116) of this 1997 painting by Mister Fire-Man! A little something strange and alluring for Valentine’s Day. We’re all caught up now once more!
Yesterday’s Mistigram post, this is a drawing by Starstew entitled “Vaporgasm”, released in the recent MIST0117 artpack collection!
From the recent MIST0117, it’s a teletext portrait of Max Headroom by Carlos TeletextR! Posted on Mistigram Feb 12.
Mistigram from February 11: an ANSI art remix by Tarot (formerly of PLF) from the MIST1014 revival artpack, fortified with real fire burning through ceramic ANSI block stencils. \m/
Mistigram from Feb 10 – abstract painting “The World is Strange Today” by Andrea Schmidt, released in the MIST1015 artpack. Pixelart feels evoked by spreading paint through a screen door mesh!
Feb 9 Mistigram post: the old rainy drawing “sometimes it’s good when it rains”, by Maeve Wolf, released in the MIST2000 artpack in January 2016.
This is a test. This is only a test this is a test of the emergency teletext broadcast system.
Our IFTTT chain got disrupted and we’re probing to see if we can get its mojo working again http://ift.tt/2lMN0gz
Mistigram for Feb 8, 2017: “Today on Mistigram, another cold picture - "Norway”, painted by @raveonstudio and released in MIST1015. Perhaps long winter nights with nothing else (well, not much else) to do have inspired our Scandinavian colleagues to spend the long hours poring over algorithms beneath the Northern Lights needed to make the demoscene possible. (But then why has our own native Canada turned out to be such a slouch at the demoparties? The Yukon alone should be dominant!)“
Feb 7 Mistigram: “Today on Mistigram, an icy curio from the "lost pack” M-9808 that halted Mistigris in its tracks for 16 years. At sporadic “Misty meets”, Cthulu would extend challenges to affiliated visual artists to better appreciate the way different artists could find very different approaches to very specific assignments. Dead Soul far and away came up with the best take on a mismatched gladiatorial bout between penguins… I don’t know what Pingo has up his sleeve but he’d better draw on it soon! (And… Vancouver is still caked in snow & ice, this rang resonant.)“
Mistigram from Feb 6: “Today on Mistigram, another @horsenburger teletext portrait - from the snowbound Overlook hotel in Stanley Kubrick’s film adaptation of Steven King’s The Shining, heereere’s Johnny! … by which I mean Jack Nicholson.”
Mistigram for Feb 05: “Today on Mistigram, @Breeonne (happy belated birthday!) makes her first appearance in a Mistigris artpack with this photo taken beneath Robson Square, a traditional gathering place of TABNet. The photo is here cropped for maximal abstraction, but you can see the whole thing with its complete ice rink context (in honour of Vancouver’s ongoing second round of unseasonal snow) ❄ in the recent MIST0117 artpack collection.”
Mistigram, Feb 4: “Today on Mistigram - in honour of winter’s surprise return to area code 604, we run this hoary frost texture by ewerx, made in 1998 and released a bit over a year ago in MIST2000. But we’ll be returning to highlights from MIST0117 tomorrow!”
Mistigram from February 3rd, 2017: “Today on Mistigram, we feature "Landing” by @bigredcanuck - an artful (and very purple!) synthesis of photography, 2D and 3D high resolution artwork, released in the recent MIST0117 artpack collection.“
And Mistigram from Feb 2: “Today on Mistigram - ldb used ASCII art in the recent MIST0117 to ask the meteorological question of whether the groundhog would be seeing his shadow later today. (His shadow? It will not be visible due to the shadow of fascism reaching across the 50 states, prefiguring at least four more /years/ of winter, a chill from which we may never fully warm again. But in deference to the piece’s apolitical cuteness, I’ll try to keep things light in this abrupt dusk of the Republic.)”
Sorry, our automatic Mistigram image reposter got unhitched. This one is from Feb 1st of this year: “Today on Mistigram - a new month, a change of tone. @bonemouse helps us get grim and deadly serious with this homage to the artscene’s favorite Image Comics subject, Todd MacFarlane’s… waitasec. Released in the new MIST0117 collection because April Fools is just so far away still…
This would have made an excellent ANSI art ad for the BBS Suicidal Shrimp!”
