 Mistigram: it seems that today is an occasion to appreciate how good you've got it -- as per AdeptApril's #ANSIart illustration, it's "Grass is Always Browner on the Other Side of the Fence Day". (Or perhaps, as per Erma Bombeck's book, it just means that your side of the fence is the one with the leaking septic tank. That's the spirit!)

 Mistigram: We caught our first glimpse of this character in our 2019 April Fool's artpack collection, "Ridin' QWERTY" in the passenger side of a pickup truck, but later in November of that year we were afforded a second visitation, this candid portrait apparently taken in a doctor's examination room.

This android's createor, Jhasen "Lawnjart" Cooper, died this week after a long illness. He is survived by many friends and his robotic child, who will have to hospitalise many, many children in order to uphold the Lawnjart family name: "An estimated 6,100 people have been treated in hospital emergency rooms for injuries involving lawn darts from 1936 through 1978."

 Mistigram: with the seasonal change in weather comes seasonal activities -- like visits to the country fair, and the unique culinary offerings found there. Improbable deep-fried dishes warrant their own holiday, but today is devoted to Something On A Stick! Popsicles, kebab, or tornado potatoes, there's something for everyone! Mistigram: mathletes and mathemagicians alike rejoice today, setting aside their traditional rivalries in celebration of #pi, a number that "... is magic. It is a number that is infinite, universal, transcendental, and irrational." Even though the #π symbol was only first used in its current mathematical form in 1706, coined by William Jones, it is difficult to imagine the world without it -- a world of collapsed churches and crumbled bridges. This #ANSIart screen celebrating #PiDay was drawn by AdeptApril of Storm BBS.

 Mistigram: a state-of-the-art audio recording medium during WWII, over the next fourty years the #ReelToReel machine became the refuge of audiophiles and the experimental avant-garde, before falling by the wayside and, finally, becoming illustrated as a #teletext animation by @blippypixel in the music-themed MIST0224 artpack collection. There's still something hypnotic about watching the spools endlessly turn.

This image's source, a photograph by Alan Levenson, was widely seen associated with her later single "Plastic Love" on YouTube circa 2017-2018, leading to a resurgence of interest in the Japanese #citypop genre.
