 Mistigram: you may recall our sharing of @littlebitspace's "Castle Kit" font a bit over a week ago. As it turns out, castles are not the only thing you can draw in #textmode with its collection of remapped #PETSCII glyphs, and I rather suspect that drawing a #skull is the artist's personal "Hello World" for any new creative environment. From the recent unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection, we give you: Castlehead.

 Mistigram: this big-eyed #ANSIart feline is #Shampoo, a cursed Amazon, from a 1994 installment of Rumiko Takahashi's #Ranma 1/2 manga. It was drawn by Zeus II, apparently for use as a BBS logoff screen, and was included in last month's unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection. I hope you like cats, because there are a lot more on their way!

 Mistigram: this is an alternate, pointier, version of a Unicode #textmode promo @mc.fresher kindly drew for us in last month's unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection, riffing off the name and logo of the '80s reality TV precursor #UnsolvedMysteries for some oldschool flavour!

BLNDR2025C/2S-BLENDER2025C

 

Mistigram: The winner of this weekend's Blender improvised art compo was also its only eligible entrant, but hats off to @2Stoned, whose TALK SHOW HOST / DESTROYING CIVILIZATION / at CORPORATE HQ #ANSIart illustration would have been a contender in any event!  The BLNDR2025C artpack is out now, and we'll see if we can't present him more competition in November!

 Mistigram: our quarterly improvised computer art compo is coming up again this weekend, run via channel #blender on the EFNet IRC.  Here's a #blockascii specimen by @axbmusic from last year's BLNDRF2024C, kicking ass(cii) even if you can't necessarily tell that the NECROMANCER is part of the OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY.

 Mistigram: "Castle Kit" is one of three remapped #PETSCII fonts created by @littlebitspace. As its name suggests, its 8x8px blocks are intended for use illustrating scenes of monumental medieval architecture with specialised textmode semigraphics. This screen, demonstrating both its use and abuse, was included in the new, unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection.

 Mistigram: Take us to your leader! This creepy #ANSIart alien dude may have been a better fit for May's science fiction artpack, but instead we gladly tapped CoaXCable's offering for infofile use in last month's unthemed MIST0625 collection.

 Mistigram: somewhere out in the wilds of London, @blippypixel encountered a #graffiti portrait of Hanna-Barbera's #TopCat cartoon character, and reproduced it as a #BBCMicro finger painting.  This piece was included in the new unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection.

 Mistigram: MC Fresher makes his text art creations in indyjoenz's tool #DurDraw, and he thinks it's so great he designs a lot of promotional artwork for it, using it.  This badass piece, "Durngeons & Drawgons", was included in the new, unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection.

Mistigram: many years ago, @blippypixel was in possession of a colourful framed poster of some geometrical computing algorithm's output.  It was hung proudly above his sofa, and one day for no apparent reason it fell off the wall and was destroyed in splintered wood and broken glass when it crashed into the floor.  After 10 years of many false starts and fruitful distractions, this year he finally succeeded at rolling his own reproduction of the doomed poster using the #BBCMicro's Acorn Graphics Extension ROM -- the entire reason he got into making computer art to begin with.  (That poster has a lot to answer for!)  This piece was included in the new unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection.

 Mistigram: much like its meatspace analogue, online love in digital cyberspace can be messy... but can still be well worth exploring! This #ANSIart screen by @mavenmob was included in the new unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection.

 Mistigram: this metal af newschool #ASCIIart promo for our fine selves was drawn by Deluks and included in the new unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection.

 Mistigram: a little celebration drawn unprompted on the occasion of MIST-30 dropping, this #emoji-based mISTFUNK text art logo (well, you see the funk emerging from the mist) is the handiwork of glitchy guest genius xero and was included in the new unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection.

 Mistigram: here's a #textmode celebration for today made in #DurDraw with a healthy dose of irony by MC Fresher.  We're number one! (in school shootings, obesity and citizen incarceration!)  This piece was included in the new unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection.

 Mistigram: this is but one of @blippypixel's suite of tablet-fingerpainted #BBCMicro high resolution graphics adaptations of actual #graffiti works seen out and about in London recently.  (We shared this one first for traffic cone-related reasons.)  It was included in the new unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection!

 Mistigram: when most artists design a logo, they don't design every single letterform in the alphabet.  Here @littlebitspace demonstrates a #pangram, a phrase intended to demonstrate all the letters.  This piece was included in the new unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection.

 Mistigram: this summer @blippypixel has been going out into public spaces in order to practice his computer art making, tablet-fingerpainting #BBCMicro reproductions of #graffiti pieces he finds thrown up on walls.
