 Mistigram: Nitron visited area code 604, traditional stomping grounds of Mistigris, over the summer, and was moved to draw this view of Downtown Vancouver's West End (and the North Shore mountains behind it) across False Creek from Kits Beach on a forest fire smoky day.  Mistigram: to you, it's just an airplane. But the artist @_n1tr0n has actually flown it, and describes it as "Nancy, tail number 61672, is a 1950s era radial engine powered Nanchang CJ-6 fighter-trainer built by the Chinese Air Force." What can I say, every #ANSIart screen is worth a thousand words! This piece was included in the recent unthemed MIST0624 artpack collection.

It also was just announced as having won fourth place in the ANSI art compo at LA's recent LayerOne demoparty. Hats off to all the competitors!

 Mistigram: The first #ANSIart screen we profile from the new #fineart-themed MIST0424  artpack collection is this composition by @_n1tr0n, a juxtaposition of #sailboat racing with the neo-plasticism of #DeStijl painter #PietMondrian.  The artist/sailor states he depicts: "my favorite moment in a boat race, the approach to the windward mark... the mondrian colors are supposed to reflect the elements of the scene, the sea, the sun, the sky, the racing spirit of the crew in red... I drew that ANSI the day I decided to sell the boat, actually."

This image is secretly responsible for the specific timing of the release of our fine art collection, as tracking down the specific fate of a particular Nitron guest submission resulted in the discovery of an entire trove of worthwhile artworks on this theme that had been carefully stashed away and then forgotten about.

Mistigram: "The Blender" is an improvised computer art competition where participants try to "blend" three spontaneous topics into a unified work of art. Last time around @_n1tr0n took the assigned topics of "Power Rangers / Robbery / Arrakis" as license to draw this #ANSIart portrait of #ElizabethBanks as #RitaRepulsa, and for his trouble he took home third prize.

 Mistigram: Periodically Nitron likes to check in with the state of the art for AI handling of ridiculous topics when we assign him nonsense subjects in the Blender improvised art compo.  This time around its absurd words were "POWER RANGERS" / "ROBBERY" / and "DUNE" and, well, the hivemind needs to work a little on figuring out what a robbery looks like.  But if you need pseudo-textmode generative art on themes of desert tokusatsu (and who among us does not!) ... you could do worse!  Naturally these submissions are not eligible for competition, and I would express concerns over the potential of lost employment for skilled producers of niche fanart, but the specific Dune / Power Rangers overlap seems to be a hitherto uncapitalized territory.
