Mistigram: with its long stretches empty space this piece is better suited to scrolling display on a BBS than static display at a glance on a smartphone, but it is 2019 and this is where we are. Viewing it up close downplays some of its compositional flaws and emphasises others. Part of the uniquely Vancouver wave of Japanese manga and anime subjects (via Hong Kong) embellished with Chinese typography (the artist’s nickname, Kurama), this #ANSIart ad for Legion of Knights BBS features a hadouken-hurling fighter with muscles on his muscles, finished off with an #ASCIIart logo.
