Mistigram: here’s a prime specimen of the Thanatos enigma, back from his start as Grim Reaper. No one sets out to make an image like this. This never appeared in anyone’s mind’s eye. He had something quite a bit more epic in mind and this is just as far as he could rough it out by fudging. A fractal “forest”, a HUD, a vague mecha in the most unappetising night vision palette possible, add a moon, an insanely colour clashing logo, and - finally a chance to admire the master’s freehand technique - scrawl a curly red cord across the right. Et voilà! To paraphrase my favorite Cramps song: ahh, my favorite brain soup - cream of nowhere. Apparently this was a promo for the Screaming Tomato BBS, something I only just discovered under close scrutiny for the very first time in the 24 years since this image was released in the MIST0695 artpack collection. http://bit.ly/2IbE8xO
