Mistigram: in April of 2019 we circulated a career retrospective of the public domain #ANSIart of medium innovator Noel Gamboa, one of whose works, a creepy monochrome illustration of X-Man #Wolverine, was appropriated for use in the #MadMan virus, making one of the most widely seen fragments of ANSI art outside the underground computer artscene. Its distinctive gaze has been adapted for commentary by several artists unaware of its specific history - this piece by Jay Wright was initially used in @cargoworld’s Computer Virus Catalogue, representing the trapped feeling of MS-DOS users left negotiating with an unfeeling trojan. https://instagr.am/p/CELNObnnE_C/
