Mistigram: getting a little meta on you – Cthulu just won’t leave well enough alone! Some of our most popular posts on social media historically have been mosaics of #Lego #pixelart, because you reach a lot of brick fans using that hashtag. But despite some obvious similarities between the mediums, many of the #ANSIart purists from our core constituency believe rather firmly that such forms of creative expression have no place in an underground computer artpack. (It’s only due to a lack of access to good digital cameras that we weren’t doing it back in 1998, but that’s neither here nor there.) Anyhow, here our muddled curator satisfies nobody by nodding to the little irritants that make us who we are, imagining a Christmas adaptation of a #SuperMarioBros3 sprite – Mario riding the best power-up of the entire series, #KuribosShoe – into Lego form, and then sharing it to wide acclaim on Instagram… all rendered in ANSI art!
