MIST1024/ATONALOSPREY-LET_THEM_EAT_CAKE
Mistigram: there are certainly offputting political overtones to world events this evening, so this just might be the perfect image to pair them with, wallowing in distinct offputting political overtones of its own! This grim #teletext portrait of the #skeleton of #MarieAntoinette (whose head appeared to have been reunited with its torso at some point over the past 231 years) was drawn by @AtonalOsprey and included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.
ADEPTAPRIL/NOV06
Mistigram: it seems that back in 2020 (!), when AdeptApril's #ANSIart calendar illustrations were being drawn, November the 6th fell on the first Friday in November -- on which occasion is celebrated #FountainPen Day. This year November's first Friday would have been on Nov 1st, but this is the screen we have to share so you just have to do a little time travelling with us ... but you can handwrite about it in elegant calligraphy in your time travel journal afterwards!

MIST1024/MM-WHOLEERROR
Mistigram: this horrific #ANSIart image, like something off of a Garbage Pail Kids card, was the only submission @Mavenmob had for last month's spooky MIST1024 artpack collection... but it's a humdinger! In chat people were asking why the only word the image was tagged with was "bisect" and I ask you what one word would better describe what you're seeing here? Worst of all, Velcro Boy is _smiling_ as he's torn apart. It's a mess, is what it is.
ADEPTAPRIL/NOV05
Mistigram: It's AdeptApril's turn to urge us to #RememberRememberTheFifthOfNovember for #GuyFawkesDay, with an #ANSIart arrangement of his mask, as widely seen in the 2005 film adaptation of Adam Moore's #VForVendetta comic (where this specific design was the handiwork of illustrator David Lloyd) ... or every day, for members of #Anonymous.

MIST1124 call for submissions
Mistigram: and now for something completely different -- we're not showing off art (well, thanks for this nice logo, @grymmjack!) but rather, we're requesting some of it! Our crew is celebrating its 30th anniversary at the end of this month, and we want to give everyone the opportunity to take part in the festivities and party like it's ... 1994.
If you have something specific in mind, we're very interested to see what you've got -- but if you could use a prompt to get the creative juices flowing, we have some suggestions:
1) We will be circulating an uncoloured, unadorned #Mistfunk logo outline and challenging the typographers among you to shade/colour/finish it off _in your own style_, hopefully yielding compelling variations on a fun theme.
2) There are thousands of artworks in our 30 years of back catalogues, and we would love to see some creative remixes, remasters, radical re-interpretations, skilled restorations and postmodern deconstructions of your favorite classic works from our back stacks.
3) As though you just fell through a time wormhole into 1994, draw up a promo for the same kinds of things we used to advertise in our packs -- the KiTSCHNet echomail network, Kithe e-mag, our WHQ the Screaming Tomato BBS (or its successor The Jade Monkey, if you prefer), or the PabloDraw ANSI editor (still under active development!) Or maybe you have a different cyberspace lost cause of 1994 that you'd like to give a last huzzah to -- a favorite MUD, newsgroup or GeoCities neighbourhood ... here's your chance!
4) If you care to open up the Moebius ANSI editor and join our networked server for the making of collaborative #ANSIart, in keeping with the #phreaking and #telephony roots of the underground computer artscene, we're hoping to collect a wide assortment of small ANSI vignettes of famous people, real and fictional, from TV, movies and real life, all taking part in a conference call on landlines, mobiles and cellular phones.
Please try to get your subs in not long after Nov 23rd, because we've gotta release this beast the following weekend! If you have any questions, you know where to find us!
LITTLEBITSPACE-SKULL_MASK
Mistigram: you can practically feel the texture of old dry bone beneath your fingertips looking at this custom #PETSCII illustration of a #skull by @littlebitspace. What's with the glyph drawn on its forehead? And why is it described as a "mask"? Some questions are better left unanswered. This piece was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.
ADEPTAPRIL/NOV04
Mistigram: While we're still lingering in a Halloween frame of mind, here's an AdeptApril #ANSIart sketch of the inner coffin of #KingTutankhamun on the occasion of #KingTut Day, the date on which his tomb was discovered by archaeologist Howard Carter in Egypt's Valley of the Kings. (And you know what's inside that coffin? A #mummy!) This subject sold a million boxes of Deluxe Paint and a million Steve Martin records.

MIST1024/HORSENBURGER-THE_SHINING-WENDY
Mistigram: RIP to actor #ShelleyDuvall, who died four months ago. @horsenburger has drawn a #teletext portrait of her somehow surviving an ax attack 44 years earlier as #WendyTorrance in Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation of Stephen King's #TheShining. This screen was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.
ADEPTAPRIL/NOV03
Mistigram: for today's #ANSIart screen AdeptApril made a visual pun about thinking outside the box for #Cliche Day. At the end of the day, it is what it is.

MIST1024/PIZZATOE-AMY-MOON_NIGHT
Mistigram: our guest Amy of #Pizzatoe keeps things Halloweeny with this spooky outsider #ASCIIart tableau featuring a couple of Jack o' Lanterns grinning in a blasted graveyard while bats flitter across the swollen orange harvest moon and Ghostface gets his witch's hat blown off by a stiff breeze. This piece was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.
ADEPTAPRIL/NOV02
Mistigram: I know, you're thinking "Oh, Halloween was two days ago, time to move on" and AdeptApril is like "sit down and shut up, for November 2 I draw a graveyard." We're into sudden death overtime here, observing Plan Your #Epitaph Day in #ANSIart.

MIST1024/MOTH-CALCGHOST
Mistigram: Moth just dashed this off at the last minute so it makes for a strange specimen to make their world debut, but nonetheless, I admire its playfulness and technological bent, so I hope you all join me in appreciating the inverted message that the #Calculator #Ghost has to share with us. This piece was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.
MIST1024/HORSENBURGER-THE_COMPANY_OF_WOLVES
Mistigram: I've heard of "cat got your tongue?" but this is ridiculous. @horsenburger drew this #teletext adaptation of the stupefying poster art for Neil Jordan's 1984 movie #TheCompanyOfWolves. This screen was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.
MIST1024/ZII-AINZ
Mistigram: in the novel/manga/anime #Overlord, #Momonga remains logged in to a MMORPG during its shutdown, only to find himself trapped in the virtual realm, physically embodying his grim, skeletal avatar #AinzOoalGown -- depicted here in #ANSIart by Zeus II. This screen was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.
MIST1024/ATONALOSPREY-SKULL_IN_THE_SAND
Mistigram: is it #teletext? Is it #ASCIIart? Yes. I'll tell you what it is: #vanitas. This #skull (in the sand, as the screen's title helpfully reminds us) is the handiwork of @atonalosprey (what did he do with the rest of the guy? You don't wanna know!), and was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.
MIST1024/LITTLEBITSPACE-9_DEATHS
Mistigram: Everyone knows that a cat has nine lives, but conversely, the name of @littlebitspace's screen here featuring the sinister feline reflection is "9 Deaths". It won first place in the Extended Text Art compo at the recent @flashparty.ar demoparty, and was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.
ADEPTAPRIL/NOV01
Mistigram: today is the Christian holiday to which Halloween emerged as the more successful prequel -- #AllSaintsDay. This #ANSIart screen of three votive candles was drawn for the occasion by AdeptApril.
