 Mistigram: the truth is out there!  This trippy coloured newschool #ASCIIart login screen for the Raven's 'the Dark Domains' BBS was drawn by Dead Soul and included in the MIST0897 artpack collection released 29 years ago this month.

 Mistigram: this #ANSIart logo represents the handiwork of two artists, Neophyte and "ds" who I'm going to interpret here as Dead Soul. I don't know what eb was but EB ("Electronic Boutique") Games was a going concern here in 1997 so I'm going to retroactively assign it to them. It was included in the Mistigris World Tour stop with Fistful of Steel in the FOS-0197 artpack collection released 29 years ago this month.

 Mistigram: this monochrome newschool #ASCIIart logo, a single large S for Spoof also containing within its body all the other letters, was drawn by Dead Soul and included with our Mistigris World Tour stop with Dark Illustrated 29 years ago in the DARK0597 artpack collection.

 Mistigram: dwelling a little longer on our Mistigris World Tour stop in DARK0597, here's a newschool #ASCIIart logo for Entropy (well, "E" at least) drawn by Dead Soul.

Mistigram: to fully appreciate just why acclaimed Mist Classic ASCII artist Dead Soul drew an illustration of gladiatorial combat in an ice rink between two very mismatched penguin champions, you would have had to attend a Mist meet-up at Benny's Bagels in the summer of 1998.  Because you didn't, you are doomed to bafflement.  This piece was included in the long-delayed M-9808 artpack collection.

Mistigram: our early revival flagbearer @Freddy43 cooked up an idea for an #ASCIIart logo printer we needed to prototype.  Unable to scrape together new imagery for the demonstration, we cannibalized a '90s piece by our own Dead Soul and included this animation in the MIST1117 artpack collection released six years ago this month.

Today on Mistigram we featured an extraordinary ASCII art / hirez hybrid by Dead Soul that first ran in our January 1998 artpack. I’m not sure precisely what relationship there is, if any, between the foreground graffiti logos and the manga-style ASCII art in the background, but they are most definitely juxtaposed.

Today on Mistigram we feature this four-way collaboration from our May 1997 Mistigris World Tour stop with Dark Illustrated – the ANSI art portrait of Todd Macfarlane’s Image Comics mainstay Spawn was drawn by Mist member Dead Soul and Dark members Samurai, The Green Hornet, and Corinthian… who would go on to feature further in Mist artpacks before disappearing altogether. (Has anybody out there seen Corn?)

That there is a pixel perfect digital fire effect.

19 years ago to the month Dead Soul drew us this clean experimental newschool ASCII art Mist logo. It’s simple, but there’s surprisingly a lot going on beneath the surface.

Today from the Mistigris Instagram feed: this is a solid (I mean it’s hollow, but well assembled 8) newschool ASCII art logo, totally monochromatic (only one colour), first appearing in the July 1997 Mistigris artpack. It was drawn by Dead Soul, who we have only recently lured out of retirement, and are looking forward to featuring more from this slow-burn textmode rockstar!
