Mistigram: 20 years ago today, the proto-Wiki #Perl #SlashDot side project #Everything had all its contents - thousand of pairs of “write-ups” constituting “nodes” - imported into #Blockstackers’ #Everything2 engine. Mistigris founder Cthulu became heavily involved in the community surrounding that website in the wake of the decline of the underground computer artscene, and circa the turn of the century was its single most prolific contributor.
Within four years he would leave it under a black cloud, seemingly permanently, but a year before he did, he used its archive of contributor voice recordings as grist for this odd piece of tracker music, eventually included in 2016’s MIST2000 catch-up artpack collection.
The Everything2.com website is still existent today, and he plans to pay it a visit later today.
