He was held face down on his bed by 5 guards until he died, 10 minutes later he was pronounced dead. David loved poetry and sports but by being an Aboriginal in white Australia, he was very unlikely to become anything but a statistic.
Almost 500 deaths in custody in 30 years and that is not the true figure, these numbers are rising all the time as more cases are being uncovered.
